Busy Busy Busy!!!

Ok So since we last spoke Kenna got her 1st real hair cut, we celebrated Christmas and got a new dog!
Kenna was really good while Auntie Robyn cut her hair. She just got a little trim to shape things up and even things out.

Christmas was great! We spent a few hours with family at Grandma & Grandpa's Ewald's house on Christmas Eve. Christmas morning the we woke up to find Santa had come! Kaira was very excited because she saw that the Big Guy in Red had left Candy Canes on the tree.

I LOVE this picture of Kenna! She got lots of dress up stuff for Christmas and put on as much as she could. She looks like a flower with the skirt on her head!!! Too cute.
And here is Twiggy! We adopted her on Monday. She's a little sweetie! She's a mix of Dachshund, Jack Russell and Beagle we think. She's about a year old and was a stray. She has fit right in since day one. I never thought we'd get another dog, but so far I'm really glad we've got Twiggy.

Well that's all for now. Over and out!

Cookie and cookie and MORE FREAKING COOKIES

Ok I baked yesterday. For 6 hours!!! I made Kieflies for the first time all by myself! Then I made Lemon Poppy Seed cookies, I freaking love those!

Then I made Mexican Wedding Cakes. Oohh! I love those too!

Now I baked sugar cookies, but I didn't make the dough. I bought pre-made dough. But they still are good! I went simple this year and just sliced them and frosted them. Some sprinkles and colored sugar and I was done with those!

I was really read to give up, but I pressed on and made the Peanut Butter Blossoms and Snickerdoodles...

And here is the last tray in the oven...I was so relieved when I put it in the oven!

I didn't even count how may dozen cookies I made. I just know I have bags and bags and tons and tons of cookies! I plan on sharing them with the family and friends!!! Next year I'm gonna ask for help!!!

So that's how I spent most of my day yesterday...until next time!

Getting Ready for Christmas

HA! Look I'm posting again! Well I wanted to share some pics of the cutest kids on the planet! I took the girls to see Santa on Tuesday. They were so excited!! I had to hold Kenna back by her shirt to keep her from running up there during the kids turn. She just kept saying, " I want Santa!!" over and over! Then it was finally her and Kaira's turn and they got all shy. Of course. At least they weren't screaming like the other kids. They were super happy to talk to Santa and to get coloring books. I was NOT super happy that it was $21 for 8 wallet sized pics. What happened to the $5 Polaroid?

Well I've been meaning to take the girls to J.C. Penny for pictures. I still need to get Kenna's 2 yr pics done. I was gonna do it at Halloween and get pics in their cute Colts Cheerleader outfits, but that didn't happen. So today I decided to go, but no appointments were available. Go figure. That's what I get for waiting until a week before Christmas! So I did what I've done the past like 3 years...I took the pics myself! Got some pretty good ones to.

Even got a good one of Kaira by herself...

And the hardest thing ever to do, I got a good pic of Kenna by herself!

Kenna must get the not smiling thing from her dad...So I ordered some really cute photo cards from Snapfish today and they should be here Monday. I've got lots of cookies to bake and presents to wrap. I'm thinking that I'll bake tomorrow since it's supposed to be a blizzard and ice storm. I need to wrap gifts, but I know the girls and the cat will get into them if they are under the tree. I guess I'll have to wrap them and keep them hidden.

Well it's time for lunch over here, so I hope this finds everyone well and blessed. Over and out!

Big Girl Beds and Super Dads!

Well Sunday I decided it was time to move Kenna into a Big Girl Bed. So I converted her crib into a toddler bed. Sunday afternoon nap was a disaster, but we've had no problems since then! She stays in bed and she hasn't fallen out, yet...

I took this pic of Jay playing with the girls the other night! Real Daddy's do play tea party!
And here is Jay playing Superheroes with the girls! Nice cape D.O.!!!

So that's what's happening over here!!! Until next time!

It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas

This is pretty much what it looked like outside ALL DAY yesterday! UGH!!! It's only Dec. 2nd and I'm sick of the snow already. Well since I was going to be inside all day I decided to put up the tree. First I had to figure out how to rearrange my furniture. Well I tried putting both rocking chairs next to each other with the end table between them, but their wasn't enough room. So I spent the next like hour trying to decided if I move the chair or the end table. I decided to move the chair. Not a good choice. I tried to put it in the basement...but it wouldn't fit through the door. So I pushed it back up the stairs and rethought which piece of furniture would have to go. I decided once again it should be the chair, so that Jay would have a table to set his drink and remote on. So in years past we've put the chair in Kaira's room and that's were it's at right now. Of course she thinks it's great because she can pull all of the animals out of the pet net. Great. So after hours of thinking about and actually moving furniture around I started putting up the tree. This tree is like 9 years old! But it still looks pretty good. The labels on the branches are coming off, so sometimes it's hard to make sure I've got the right branches on the correct level of the tree. But I managed pretty good this year. Of course every year I for get how much easier it is to put the tree skirt on before I build the tree , but oh well that's minor.

Every year I remember that the year before I had a hell of a time with the lights. And every year I swear I'm going to toss this tree and get a pre-lit one. This year I spent at least and hour untangling the lights that I balled up and tossed in the bin last year. What was I thinking? So after untangling the lights I started stringing them only find that half of the strand was out. Great. So I ripped those off and grabbed a new strand. I got all the lights on and was scratched up and itchy when I was done. Now I'm trying to remember what I did with the strand of half working lights...oh they are probably back in the bin. That'll be a nice surprise next season.

This is the finished product. Ahhh...all done. Now if I could just keep the kids and the cat away from it...Today's weather promises to be cold and snowy so I guess I'll work on cleaning the house and putting up more decorations.

I've been lazy...

Ok I tried to post this in the morning, but it wouldn't let me. ERRR!!! So here is attempt #2. I know I haven't posted in like 2 weeks! It's hard because the computer is in the basement and the girls go crazy when I leave them upstairs.

Ok, So here is Kenna's BEFORE picture.... Cute as ever right?

And here is the AFTER pic...as in after her father butchered her bangs with the scissors.

Kaira got it to, but since her hair is curly it's not as noticeable. So much for letting their bangs grow out. They are still the most adorable girls on the planet, but dang! I wanted to let the bangs grow out. I mean why did he think I'd been using barrettes to hold their bangs back? So ladies hide all scissors from your husbands.

And I hope everyone had a super Thanksgiving.

These pics were taken at my grandma's house. Above, starting on the left is my mom, Grandpa John, my sister in law Robyn and Grandma Pauline. Below is Robyn, again, Jay and Grandma Pauline.

I got the Christmas tree up today. I'll try and post some pics of it and the stupid snow tomorrow. Until next time America!

I'm Back!!!

Ok, so we all knew it'd happen at some point! Sometimes I just get so busy that I can't make it downstairs. Just another one of the zillion reasons I need a laptop. I'm working on it and with lots of parties booked it's getting closer and closer.

So let's see what's been going on over since we last spoke...

Jay finally got his "Daddy Chair" and no one is allowed to look at, breath on it or touch it.

He really likes it and it does look good in the living room. Of course the old loveseat is now pushed into the dining room until who knows when it will be removed. It did come in handy for seating around the table last night for my Mary Kay party.

I've been super busy with parties. Lot's of people are interested in finding out more about joining Temptations, so that's always good. (Laptop here I come!!)

It snowed...ugh. I don't like the snow! It's cold and the roads suck and it just looks so depressing! But oh well, nothing I can do about it but stay nice and warm inside.

Still nothing on the the whole new mini van front....I don't even want to talk about it, so that's al I've got to say about that.

Thanksgiving is next week already and that means Christmas is right around the corner. I'm sooo not ready. I usually put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving, but I've got parties the Fri. and Sat. after so it'll just have to wait a few days longer.

I'm off the Lyrica. Pain is a little worse than when I was on it, but atleast now I can have a drink if I want. I'm almost scared to have a drink because it's been so long since my last one! I could go for a night out with my girls...we'll see maybe after the holidays.

Oh! I bought the girls WALL-E yesterday!!! It's sooooo good! It's like my new fave movie. You've got to see it.

And I think that's pretty much it. I'm tried today and I think I'm just gonna be a bum the rest of the day. Untill next time....

Who's idea was this????

Saturday my cousin Sabrina got married! Jay, the girls and I all headed down to Kokomo for the wedding. I was all for getting a sitter and just Jay and I going. And that had been the plan until Thursday...Jay thought we should take the girls. So I head out on Friday in search of something cute for them to wear. I'm ended up at Target. Don't they look cute! Well Kenna looks pissed off...

The girls were pretty good during the ceremony. It was hard to get good pics in the church. Most of them came out pretty dark. But I did get a good one of Kenna sitting on her D. O.'s lap. For those of you not familiar with the term D.O., that's what the girls call Jay. It stands for Daddy-O.

I tried to get some good pics at the reception and I got a few, but I was getting annoyed at the wedding photographer...she kept walking in front of me! LOL I know she was doing her job, but dang it, I wanted some good pics too!! I LOVE this pic of Sabrina and Eric during their first dance. It says it all. You can see just how happy she is! I'm really happy for her. She always said she would never get married, so he must really be something special!
The girls were making me crazy!!! They were ALL over the place. Running around and into people. They were having a really good time out on the dance floor. So all in all it was a really
beautiful day and I'm really happy for Sabrina and Eric. And next time there is a wedding to go to...I think we'll find a sitter.

Ramblings of a SAHM...

Usually once a week the girls and I head over to Martin's to have lunch with my mom. We all love it. The girls are always super happy to see their Grannie. They always run to her screaming " Grannie, Grannie I'm here!!!!"

They have a little routine of getting their Starbucks, whipped cream with chocolate for Kenna and just plain whipped cream for Kaira, then they get into a shopping cart and Grannie pushes them up front to help her punch out. Then back through the store...they take the elevator to the 2nd floor of the cafe and we try and get a table so we can look at the fountain.

They have started asking Grannie for coins to "buy a wish" from the fountain. So of course they each get a penny to toss into the fountain. The fountain was off yesterday. It's about time for it to be closed up for winter.

After our lunch yesterday we had lots to do! We had to go to Wal-Mart and then Target, because Wal-Mart sucked and didn't have ANYTHING cute for the girls to wear to the wedding we are going to...then we head off home. Before we got home they were both asleep.

I'm super happy the gas prices are going down! But I'm afraid the damage has been done. Our economy is in bad shape. We are super lucky that Jay has a good job and that we don't have a bunch of debt. It just annoys me that 4 years ago we had the chance to get Bush out of office and move the country in another direction and didn't. I'm happy people got out and voted for change! I have high hopes that Obama can get us going in the right direction. It's gonna take awhile to untangle the mess that has been made. It's strange people seem to think Obama is the president right now and things should start turning around...he doesn't start until 01/20/09, so let's remember that our current president is the Lame Duck. Enough of my political ramblings...check out these gas prices!!!

"Mommy I'm a Rockstar!!"

Kaira has taken to wearing theses star glasses and telling me she's a rock star. Well today I realized she and Kenna pretty much live like rock star. We've all see how crazy celebrities look with out their hair and make-up done...
As you can see these too look CRAZY in the morning! But they are still super cute... And just like rock stars, someone comes in fixes their hair, picks out their clothes and tells them to put the drink down...
The end result is presentable little person!! So 2 hours after I've gotten up I've managed to bathe them, fix hair, get them dressed, feed them breakfast and brush teeth, and yet I'm still not ready...Jay wonders why it takes me so long to get ready when we go any place. CUZ I have to get 3 people ready!!!! So now it's mommy's turn to get ready...until next time!

I did it!!! I voted!!!

Ok, so yesterday Jay came home early from work so we could go look at mini vans...no we are not having another baby. We knew that at some point we would look for one, and yesterday seemed like a good day. So Grandma Pauline and Papa John we wonderful enough to come over to watch the girls. We spent like 6 hours looking at cars. We started off looking at used. We just couldn't seem to find the features we wanted. So we took a lunch break at Hacienda. We got lost on the way back to the car lot...nice! We need GPS. Well after getting back to the lot we did something I didn't think Jay would do...we looked at BRAND NEW VANS...as in 2009! I thought maybe he'd lost his mind. But we LOVED the 2009 Toyota Sienna. It was so pretty! It drove sooo nice and smooth!! Man, it was awesome! Here's what it looked like.

Well, we figured we'd better go give the 2008 Honda Odyssey a look. Jay test drove an 05 Odyssey and really wasn't crazy about it. But there were some new features on the 08 and he wanted to check them out. I freaking loved this car!! I really like the color. I've wanted a blue car for a while! The inside was really pretty too! It drove really nice and it had so many great features and options. I REALLY wanted it. We talked numbers and Jay almost said yes. I thought he was going to, but then he said no. I was a little sad. I don't care if it's brand new or not, but I just really like it. Well if it's meant to be it will happen.

I was so tired and frustrated after 6 hours of car shopping. I had a huge migraine and I was hungry. I was ready to be home and I'm sure Grandma and Grandpa were ready to be home! So we got pizza for everyone and talked about the pro's and con's of buying a new car. Ahhhhh, it was so pretty....I'll keep my fingers crossed. Jay didn't say no, just "not right now"....

On to voting news!!

I was so excited to get up early and hit the polls at 6 am! I got up with Jay at 4:45 am...UGH! That was hard. I was busy getting ready and listening to the news. On a whim I thought I'd check the expiration date on my driver's licence....and what do you know, it was expired. On my birthday. Ain't that a kicker? I was about to give up on voting today. Well I thought I'd check to see what time the BMV opened so I could at least get legal again and what do you know they were opening at 6am to help forgetful people as myself have valid Id's to vote! So I got the girls up and ready to go. I was happily on my way to the BMV only to find out they moved. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I was starting to think McRage and Caribou Barbie were out to get me. So I tried looking up the location on my cell phone. But I couldn't could find the info I wanted. I thought I remembered something about it moving downtown...so off I went in search of a valid driver's licence.

After a few wrong turns I found it! I was so happy to see they weren't busy! Normally I know people dread the BMV. But let me tell you, this new branch is very nice and the people that work there are the BEST!! They were so friendly and quick!! My day was looking up! I was a little unhappy to find out it was going to be $24 to get my licence, but oh, well. I was in and out in under 10 minutes!! That must some kind of record! So a BIG HUGE THANKS to all the ladies who got up early to work today. You are great!

And just in case you need to stop by here's the address:

623 South St. Joseph Street South Bend, IN 46619(574) 233-2149

And now we were off to the polls! I was prepared to stand in line for a while. But guess what?? No line!! I was so relieved to get there and no huge line! Things were looking up!! So I checked in with my brand new licence and got my sheet. The girls were so good through the whole thing. They had their spellers to play with and they got candy while I was voting. I'm so glad I finally did it! I didn't think it was going to happen. Now I can't wait to sit back and watch all the news coverage on it.

I just had to take a picture of this view from the polling place. I vote at a golf course and it's really pretty, especially in the fall. Who wouldn't want to come here to vote!! The view is amazing. I really don't like the weather her in Indiana, but autumn is so pretty. I love all the changing leaves! Kaira liked it so much that she wants to learn to play golf so she can
play here. She's so funny!
So now I'm home. I've got a vaild licence and I executed my right to vote and I had cold pizza for breakfast. I got to see the sun rise and it promises to be a beautiful day...ahhh what more could you ask for??? So enjoy your day, get out and vote and tell someone how much you love them! Until next time....Go Team Lula!!!

As if you needed more proof I'm super mom...

All I can do is laugh when Kenna wakes up from a nap. Her hair is ALWAYS crazy! Some days she wakes up in a good mood and some days she's a crab apple...I mean just look at this face

I love my little May May to pieces! But she can be a handful! Some of you have never seen the dirty look she gives when she's mad...

Sometimes it's so hard to get this kids to eat! Lately chicken nuggets have been the only food they want!

At least they're eating...Well after a ketchup mess, a clean shirt and a good a hair brushing the girls got one of their favorite things...a tattoo!!! Sparkly Girls ones, no more Ice Road Trucker tattoos!!!

Oh and we got more new fish...6 more...let's see how long these will last. So now Jay spends all kinds of time staring into the fish tank...it's really very relaxing. And he's talking about getting another dog. Part of me likes the idea and part of me doesn't. We'll see...

Well I hope you enjoyed the latest installment of a glimpse into the life of Team Lula...Oh and big thanks to my BF, Bethany for my too cute header and background. Isn't she good? I think so...oh and Bethany...GO EDWARD!!!!
