Busy Busy Busy!!!

Ok So since we last spoke Kenna got her 1st real hair cut, we celebrated Christmas and got a new dog!
Kenna was really good while Auntie Robyn cut her hair. She just got a little trim to shape things up and even things out.

Christmas was great! We spent a few hours with family at Grandma & Grandpa's Ewald's house on Christmas Eve. Christmas morning the we woke up to find Santa had come! Kaira was very excited because she saw that the Big Guy in Red had left Candy Canes on the tree.

I LOVE this picture of Kenna! She got lots of dress up stuff for Christmas and put on as much as she could. She looks like a flower with the skirt on her head!!! Too cute.
And here is Twiggy! We adopted her on Monday. She's a little sweetie! She's a mix of Dachshund, Jack Russell and Beagle we think. She's about a year old and was a stray. She has fit right in since day one. I never thought we'd get another dog, but so far I'm really glad we've got Twiggy.

Well that's all for now. Over and out!

Cookie and cookie and MORE FREAKING COOKIES

Ok I baked yesterday. For 6 hours!!! I made Kieflies for the first time all by myself! Then I made Lemon Poppy Seed cookies, I freaking love those!

Then I made Mexican Wedding Cakes. Oohh! I love those too!

Now I baked sugar cookies, but I didn't make the dough. I bought pre-made dough. But they still are good! I went simple this year and just sliced them and frosted them. Some sprinkles and colored sugar and I was done with those!

I was really read to give up, but I pressed on and made the Peanut Butter Blossoms and Snickerdoodles...

And here is the last tray in the oven...I was so relieved when I put it in the oven!

I didn't even count how may dozen cookies I made. I just know I have bags and bags and tons and tons of cookies! I plan on sharing them with the family and friends!!! Next year I'm gonna ask for help!!!

So that's how I spent most of my day yesterday...until next time!

Getting Ready for Christmas

HA! Look I'm posting again! Well I wanted to share some pics of the cutest kids on the planet! I took the girls to see Santa on Tuesday. They were so excited!! I had to hold Kenna back by her shirt to keep her from running up there during the kids turn. She just kept saying, " I want Santa!!" over and over! Then it was finally her and Kaira's turn and they got all shy. Of course. At least they weren't screaming like the other kids. They were super happy to talk to Santa and to get coloring books. I was NOT super happy that it was $21 for 8 wallet sized pics. What happened to the $5 Polaroid?

Well I've been meaning to take the girls to J.C. Penny for pictures. I still need to get Kenna's 2 yr pics done. I was gonna do it at Halloween and get pics in their cute Colts Cheerleader outfits, but that didn't happen. So today I decided to go, but no appointments were available. Go figure. That's what I get for waiting until a week before Christmas! So I did what I've done the past like 3 years...I took the pics myself! Got some pretty good ones to.

Even got a good one of Kaira by herself...

And the hardest thing ever to do, I got a good pic of Kenna by herself!

Kenna must get the not smiling thing from her dad...So I ordered some really cute photo cards from Snapfish today and they should be here Monday. I've got lots of cookies to bake and presents to wrap. I'm thinking that I'll bake tomorrow since it's supposed to be a blizzard and ice storm. I need to wrap gifts, but I know the girls and the cat will get into them if they are under the tree. I guess I'll have to wrap them and keep them hidden.

Well it's time for lunch over here, so I hope this finds everyone well and blessed. Over and out!

Big Girl Beds and Super Dads!

Well Sunday I decided it was time to move Kenna into a Big Girl Bed. So I converted her crib into a toddler bed. Sunday afternoon nap was a disaster, but we've had no problems since then! She stays in bed and she hasn't fallen out, yet...

I took this pic of Jay playing with the girls the other night! Real Daddy's do play tea party!
And here is Jay playing Superheroes with the girls! Nice cape D.O.!!!

So that's what's happening over here!!! Until next time!

It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas

This is pretty much what it looked like outside ALL DAY yesterday! UGH!!! It's only Dec. 2nd and I'm sick of the snow already. Well since I was going to be inside all day I decided to put up the tree. First I had to figure out how to rearrange my furniture. Well I tried putting both rocking chairs next to each other with the end table between them, but their wasn't enough room. So I spent the next like hour trying to decided if I move the chair or the end table. I decided to move the chair. Not a good choice. I tried to put it in the basement...but it wouldn't fit through the door. So I pushed it back up the stairs and rethought which piece of furniture would have to go. I decided once again it should be the chair, so that Jay would have a table to set his drink and remote on. So in years past we've put the chair in Kaira's room and that's were it's at right now. Of course she thinks it's great because she can pull all of the animals out of the pet net. Great. So after hours of thinking about and actually moving furniture around I started putting up the tree. This tree is like 9 years old! But it still looks pretty good. The labels on the branches are coming off, so sometimes it's hard to make sure I've got the right branches on the correct level of the tree. But I managed pretty good this year. Of course every year I for get how much easier it is to put the tree skirt on before I build the tree , but oh well that's minor.

Every year I remember that the year before I had a hell of a time with the lights. And every year I swear I'm going to toss this tree and get a pre-lit one. This year I spent at least and hour untangling the lights that I balled up and tossed in the bin last year. What was I thinking? So after untangling the lights I started stringing them only find that half of the strand was out. Great. So I ripped those off and grabbed a new strand. I got all the lights on and was scratched up and itchy when I was done. Now I'm trying to remember what I did with the strand of half working lights...oh they are probably back in the bin. That'll be a nice surprise next season.

This is the finished product. Ahhh...all done. Now if I could just keep the kids and the cat away from it...Today's weather promises to be cold and snowy so I guess I'll work on cleaning the house and putting up more decorations.

I've been lazy...

Ok I tried to post this in the morning, but it wouldn't let me. ERRR!!! So here is attempt #2. I know I haven't posted in like 2 weeks! It's hard because the computer is in the basement and the girls go crazy when I leave them upstairs.

Ok, So here is Kenna's BEFORE picture.... Cute as ever right?

And here is the AFTER pic...as in after her father butchered her bangs with the scissors.

Kaira got it to, but since her hair is curly it's not as noticeable. So much for letting their bangs grow out. They are still the most adorable girls on the planet, but dang! I wanted to let the bangs grow out. I mean why did he think I'd been using barrettes to hold their bangs back? So ladies hide all scissors from your husbands.

And I hope everyone had a super Thanksgiving.

These pics were taken at my grandma's house. Above, starting on the left is my mom, Grandpa John, my sister in law Robyn and Grandma Pauline. Below is Robyn, again, Jay and Grandma Pauline.

I got the Christmas tree up today. I'll try and post some pics of it and the stupid snow tomorrow. Until next time America!
