Fibro update

Ok, so I went to see the doctor on Friday. Man! I was overloaded with information! But I think I remember most of it!

All of my blood work looked normal, of course. So he checked my over. I felt like I was a race car in a melon in the grocery store, twist this, pull this, push that, poke this, prod here...OUCH OUCH OUCH! So the diagnosis is ....drum roll please...FIBROMYALGIA....duh! We all knew that all ready!

So he gave me his treatment plan. I've got 3 different muscle relaxers to try. I take each one for 2 week and the one that works the best is the winner. I take it 2 hours before bed. I guess the "old fashion" muscle relaxers work two fold. First they work on the brain and it tells the muscles to relax and 2nd,the sleep center part of your brain is right next to the part that tells the muscles to relax, so the medication tends to make people sleepy. So we use that side effect to our advantage to help me get more stage 4 sleep. Stage 4 sleep is when your muscles get recharged and I'm not getting enough of that, so the meds are supposed to help. Well see in 6 short weeks which med, if any works! I'm hoping something does!

Next I need to see the foot doc to get fitted for shoe inserts. I already knew my feet were flat, but my left arch is collapsing and thus throwing my posture off and my back. So we are gonna try and correct that.

And lastly is physical therapy. I'm already getting this treatment and won't be switching to the one the doc recommended for 2 reasons...1 it's too far from home and 2nd I only get 20 sessions a yr.

So last night was the first night on the meds. I feel like I slept pretty good, not really any better than normal. I was wide a wake this morning, but now I feel like I cold fall asleep typing.

So that's all for now, I'll try and get some new pics of the family up soon!

And what the hell is a race car in a melon in a grocery store? Not familar with that analogy...
